If we beat Newcastle in tonight’s Aviva Premiership game at Sixways, I reckon we can be pretty sure to be playing top-flight rugby again next season.
Mathematically, there might be a way that Newcastle could catch us but realistically, it would take a disaster on our part to let it slip.
We had a disappointing loss on our last outing in the league at Bath but, at home, we have pretty much set out to do what we wanted to do at the start of the season and that is be a very tough side to beat at Sixways.
The points we have gained in front of our own superb fans have kept us away from danger.
Only when Leicester Tigers came here can we really say we got outplayed on our own turf.
And the win over Saracens in our last home league game showed just what we are capable of. They were all over us at the start of the game but we dug in, fought back and beat the current champions in a fantastic finish.
We have tended to save our best rugby of the season for when the biggest sides have come to Sixways and we have also beaten Gloucester and the Ospreys at home.
The boys have set themselves a target of remaining unbeaten at Sixways for the rest of the season and, with where us and Newcastle are in the league standings, it is imperative that we win again tonight.
