First things first, my ‘skullet’ hairstyle is still in place.
I am not bald.
We were messing around with an ‘app’ on a phone the other day and mixed my face with Shaun Perry’s hairless head. It looked like I had been squashed in a vice.
One of the lads stuck it up on Twitter and, before long, I was receiving plenty of tweets from people who thought it was real. Let me assure you, there is no way I would want to look like Pezza.
We are in the middle of the longest pre-season I have ever known as a professional. And that has given the new boys plenty of time to fit in.
Jon Clarke from Northampton has a proven track record in the Premiership and Paul Hodgson will bring us even more experience at the top level after arriving from London Irish.
Centre Josh Matavesi looks good from Racing Metro and Nikki Walker and David Lemi will give us some gas on the wings.
One of the players that will make the biggest impact though is lock forward Dean Schofield from Toulon.
The former Sale Sharks man has tonnes of experience, carries well and will take no prisoners. He is brash and abrasive on the pitch.
Dean will add some real grunt to our pack this year and that is something we need if we want to better our position of last season.
Dean also got himself noticed at Mark Cueto’s wedding this summer too.
He was best man and, after a few drinks, his speech was quite lively to say the least.
I don’t think Mark will be playing the video in his house for a while!
