Cherry And White Meaning Drummed In By Naz

Luke Narraway has been the life and soul of Gloucester the entire time I have been at the club.

He is Mr Gloucester as far as I am concerned, and he has really instilled that passion in me that is so central to representing the club.

Playing for Gloucester is an honour and every time we pull on that Cherry and White shirt we represent the city as well as the rugby club.

Luke has really drummed that into me, and he has brought everyone together so that we all feel it as much as he does.

When you join a new club you have to settle in, prove yourself and earn respect.

You can’t just go around demanding certain standards of team mates on day one.

Naz is always vocal and great at getting the lads pumped up before games, and he is also great at bringing others into that.

I feel as though I have been able to add to that as well, as I have become more settled and grown as part of the squad.

And Naz has definitely helped me in that respect.

Luke is a great captain and he will be missed next year when he moves to Perpignan.

The way rugby is now people will always move on from time to time, and we’ll be no different this year.

Alasdair Strokosch will join Naz at Perpignan next year, and he’s another big character at Kingsholm.

Sometimes you only have to look at Strokes to know he’s going to do the business, and he’s been a great servant for Gloucester for a good while now.

Scott Lawson is heading to London Irish next year, and the Scottish hooker has done remarkably well in his time at Gloucester.

He arrived as a front-rower expected to be a back-up in all honesty, but he was never about to settle for that.

And he quickly proved himself far more than just a squad player.

He forced his way into the reckoning as a big player, and has stayed there.

He’s excellent around the field, but also very impactful in the tight stuff.

We’ll miss all three guys at Gloucester next year, as team mates, friends and great players.

In professionalism though, that’s just the way it has to be.

Everyone will get on with it, but no one will ever forget what they have done for Gloucester.
