Along with the Crumbie Stand at Leicester, The Shed is the most well-known construction in the Premiership. Opposite is an impressive new stand and, with more decent capacity at either end, Kingsholm remains a fortress both on and off the field.

Ideal. Near city centre. Plenty of parking and pubs in the near vicinity.

Food and Drink:

Standard fayre inside the ground, chip shop directly opposite the entrance. Good corporate set-up for those who prefer prawn sandwiches to cod and chips.

Getting there:

Straightforward. Don’t leave it too late but decent access around the ground.

Archetypal local:

There are Cyclops everywhere. The Shed has earned the Cherry and Whites 50 per cent of their points during the club’s history. Hugely passionate supporters of their team and willing to get stuck into the opposition and referee from the minute they tread on the hallowed turf. Love their replica kits. Love their beer. Love their club.

Electric. A joy to be a part of on big afternoons, wherever you sit or stand in this wonderful ground.

Local Expectations:

New director of rugby Nigel Davies has brought some old school values and discipline to the squad and his side's impressive start to the season means they could really be challenging that top four this season.

Plenty of it... I mean absolutely loads of it. Vociferous too. Away from the 80 minutes, friendly and good spirited. Thick skin is mandatory for opposition fans.

Donkey-mimicking “Eeee ore, eeee ore...” – to opposition player who drops pass/misses kick/does something remotely wrong.
